For visa applications which are not points based (this includes all visitor visa and settlement visa
applications)
To schedule an appointment for visa applications , please email VFS between 8:00 and 15:00, Monday - Friday. You should make an appointment for each person who is applying for a visa, with the exception of children under 5 years of age.

Visa category.
Visa application centre you would like to attend.
Preferred date and time (Please provide 3 options).
Your place of residence.
VFS will send you an email within 24 hours of receipt confirming your appointment. Please print this email and bring it with you to the visa application centre.
For visa applications which are points based (Tiers 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the points based system)
From Monday 12 December 2011 all points based visa applicants need to complete the visa application form online and schedule an appointment online . Manually completed applications will no longer be accepted under the points-based system.
Please note, that the online requirement applies to main applicants and dependants.
Please print a hard copy of your visa application form on good quality paper and bring this, together with all supporting documentation, to your appointment at the visa application centre.

Please note: when you make an online visa application you are required to make an appointment at the visa application centre online at the same time. If you would like to make an appointment to use a premium lounge, you may do so by separately requesting an appointment. Your online appointment will then be cancelled. General information for all appointments
Please print the email confirming the details of your appointment, and bring this with you to the visa application centre you have chosen to attend.
You should reach the visa application centre 5 minutes before your appointment time.
The appointment must be made in your name, and you must attend the visa application centre. You cannot change the details of the appointment when it has been made, and another person cannot attend this scheduled appointment.
When you attend the visa application centre, you will need to provide your biometric information, which includes a photograph and a digital scan of your fingerprints. If you have temporary injuries on your fingers, please wait until the injuries heal before your appointment date. You should also remove any henna on your fingertips,or allow it to fade, as this may prevent us from getting a clear scan.
Note: You cannot book an appointment by visiting or telephoning the visa application centres.
